Touchscreen Surveys

Touchscreen SurveysTouch screen surveys are a great way of getting feedback on your product or services in a timely and cost-effective way. Touch screens are essentially a computer monitor with a touch sensitive overlay in the form of glass or other material. Users are presented with a series of question/answer pairs and can respond to the survey by simply touching the answer they want. Touch screen surveys are being seen more and more these days in many applications such as customer feedback and patient feedback surveys for the NHS.

Touchscreen surveys provide a fast way to get feedback from patients and customers. Survey responses are available in real-time so you can change your service on a daily basis. The surveys can be changed or modified if required so the touchscreen surveys are highly adaptable.

Compared with paper based surveys which can be high on errors and part-filled responses, touchscreen surveys often work out to be a lower end cost. Once the initial hardware investment is taken into account you can then run multiple surveys or add additional features.

Touchscreen survey systems can be setup with microphone, speakers and cameras so that people can provide feedback as audio or video clips. This is a great way to deal with those with learning difficulties or for those who want to leave feedback quickly. Users can also be presented with audio clips – music or voice and select the response they prefer.

Online survey software is great for running surveys on a website but have limitations when using a touch screen survey. Touchscreen surveys should be designed with large buttons and the ability to scale the presentation for any size of touchscreen.

Survey Software
The touchscreen survey is created using online survey generation software where you log in and start creating your survey. Typically, users have different levels of use such as the ability to create surveys or just to be able to view the responses.
Each survey is created using a simple step by step process where the first step is to enter the basic details about the survey. Users can enter a start and end date such that the survey will only be available for use during a particular timeframe. The survey can be given a name and include helpful instructions for the end user which will guide them through the survey process. The survey can also be setup such that the end user has to answer all of the questions (mandatory) or not.

Touch screen surveys can present a variety of question types. Simple text answers allow users to enter textual feedback. Multi-choice answers are a quick and easy way for users to provide feedback. Preference range answers enable users to provide a range of responses (e.g. Good, Ok, Bad) for a number of questions. The survey software may also present the user with a form to fill out (e.g. please enter your email address). The survey software may also provide a validation on the input entered by the user to ensure that the data retrieved is valid.

Skip Logic
Skip logic means users will only be shown questions which relate to their previous responses. As an example, a user may be asked their age and if they are below a limit (e.g. under 18) then they skip ahead a number of questions.

Survey Themes
Each touchscreen survey can be customised in look by uploading background and header images so you can include your own logo or other images. The survey can further be customised by selecting the font, text sizes and colours to be used for the text. Finally, users can select from a range of button styles and other elements to create a survey which fits with their business style.

Survey Results
Responses from the survey are available in the form of reports which can be exported to Microsoft excel and other application for further analysis. Reports are usually available in numeric/text and graphical form and usually you can export the report as a PDF document.

Types of touchscreen
The touchscreen element itself is available in a number of different technologies with resistive and capacitive being the most popular. Resistive touchscreens can be used with a finger touch and with gloved hands or pointing device. Capacitive touchscreens are great where you need more toughened glass. For NHS or other organisations, the touchscreens can have privacy filters fitted to them so that users can provide feedback securely and privately.

Running surveys on touchscreen kiosks
Touchscreen kiosks are similar to touchscreen monitors but include the computer parts and may have a keyboard, printer or other device to enable additional features. The kiosks can be branded so that users see the device as a touchscreen survey point. The touchscreen survey kiosks can be wall-mounted, free-standing or portable devices which are great for getting feedback during one-to-one consultations.

Conclusion
If you are tasked with running a survey for your organisation then touchscreen surveys should be considered. For healthcare organisations which run many surveys with thousands of potential users the touchscreen survey will quickly return results and cover the initial investment.

New Four Sided Gamer Kiosk Tower Installed at South Worcester College

New Four Sided Gamer Kiosk Tower Installed at South Worcester CollegeAs a manufacturer and designer of innovative touch screen kiosk hardware and kiosk software, Kiosks4business designed the gamer tower kiosk for use in Youth clubs. The gamer kiosk houses a games console or other device to protect it against theft or damage during use.

Gamer kiosks are approx 2m high and 700mm wide on each face. The gamer kiosk now comes in a number of size options including a low cost (wall fixed) one side, two sided, three and four sided versions. Each side of the gamer tower can be customised for different applications. A side may have a screen for playing games or watching a video, alternatively it can feature a leaflet rack or a digital sign in portrait mode for advertising. The gamer towers are an imposing structure and work well as a central information point which you simply can’t miss as you enter a building. The gamer towers feature an industrial high definition HD monitor with audio built in. The monitor is protected behind a thick plastic bezel which runs from top to bottom on each side of the tower. The bezel uses a digital back-printed logo which can include any image you wish and makes the kiosk tower an engaging and exciting object. Additional LED lighting can be added to make the sides of the tower glow for added effect.

New Four Sided Gamer Kiosk Tower Installed at South Worcester College

The original design was a three sided gamer tower manufactured for use in a youth club. Since then we have gone on to produce a two sided tower and have now produced our first four sided gamer tower. The four sided Gamer tower for South Worcester College has a built-in coin-op mechanisms which enables users to pay for 15mins usage of the tower. A LED countdown shows the time remaining and when time runs out, the screen switches to a media player input. The media player is loaded with a custom designed graphic with your logo and other images and can include audio. This is a great way to advertise messages to users of the tower and works well for youth clubs and other organisations working with young people.

New Mobile Clinical Assistants for The NHS

New Mobile Clinical Assistants for The NHSTablet style touchscreen devices are becoming more available and accepted by consumers with the new Apple I-Pad hitting the shops. Other manufacturers are creating their own touchscreen tablets with multi-touch technology, GPS and many other options. Mobile clinical assistants (MCA) are similar to a tablet PC but specifically designed for use in a healthcare environment. Mobile clinical assistants are to be found in hospitals and other organisations where information is to be captured from patients.

Mobile Clinical Assistants are a great device for operating patient feedback surveys as they are easily portable and designed for ease of use. The touchscreen makes it simple for patients to provide feedback about services by simply touching some software buttons on the screen. MCAs can quickly retrieve patient records, X-rays and other images for a clinician to use when consulting with a patient. Mobile Clinical Assistants can also help reduce human errors due to handwriting and other misunderstandings.

Unlike a laptop, a Mobile Clinical Assistant is designed for the healthcare environment. It is designed to be tough and withstand light falls and is made from plastic which makes it easy to clean. Network connectivity is available via WiFi or wired Ethernet (when connected to the docking station) and some include Bluetooth. Wireless networks within the hospital ensure that the MCA is always connected to the internet or internal network for moving files and accessing web services.

Mobile Clinical Assistants come with a range of peripherals built in which makes them an ideal platform for developing touch-based healthcare applications. MCAs may include a RFID card reader, bar code scanner, webcam, microphone and speakers and biometric scanner. The biometric scanner or RFID reader can be used by the clinician to log-on to the MCA and ensure that only authorised people can use it. Bar code scanners and RFID can be used for scanning in patient Identification tags. MCAs have various sizes with screen sizes including 10in, 12in and 15in versions. The screens have an optional touchscreen which can also be used with a stylus and the screen resolution is typically 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 pixels.

Mobile Clinical Assistants are battery powered like a laptop computer but some have a built in battery in addition to the rechargeable one. This feature means you can swap the rechargeable battery for a fully charged one without having to switch off the MCA. Mobile clinical assistants are available with a docking station which acts as a place to leave the Mobile Clinical Assistant when not being used. The docking station will recharge the battery and may have the ability to charge additional batteries at the same time. The docking station typically provides access to extra USB ports and may include a connection to an external monitor. A large widescreen touchscreen monitor could be used as an additional screen if you wish to show a patient an image or other data.

MCAs find use in many areas within the hospital environment and will probably do so for some time to come. With new technologies for LCD screens, lower power computing processors and better battery technologies the MCA will provide a rugged platform to help provide an interface for NHS services for many years.

Wall Mount Kiosks Provide Customer Service in Tight Spaces

Wall Mount Kiosks Provide Customer Service in Tight SpacesKiosks4business' wall mount touch screen kiosks are finding more uses in local authorities and NHS applications. Traditionally most touchscreen kiosks have been fairly bulky free-standing designs with standard PC's included. These have big disadvantages due to the space taken up and the inherent unreliability of PCs when used for public service applications.

Kiosks4business' wall mount kiosks have been designed using industrial specification computing platforms capable of running all of the same applications software as standard PCs but with extra rugged construction and longevity of supply. The wall mount kiosks use very little electrical power and are capable of automatically switching themselves on and off each day, so rate highly for green credentials. The wall mount kiosks do not generate much heat and are therefore fan-less in operation and almost completely silent which is great for libraries and other quiet areas.

The wall mount kiosks are typically less than 4 inches deep and so can easily be accommodated by wall space within reception or waiting areas of local councils and other sites.

The wall mount kiosks are feature-rich with touchscreen and options including RFID, rugged keyboard and telephone handset. Other options include printers, bar code scanner and many more.

Wall mount kiosks are a great solution for local authorities looking to provide access to council services in satellite departments where there isn't enough room for a large and complex touch screen solution. The wall mount kiosks also present a stylish, lower cost alternative to gaining feedback from customers which has historically been a paper based solution with inherent problems and costs associated. The wall mount kiosks also include branded bezels which look great in any setting.

Kiosks4business' range of wall mount kiosks has now been expanded with the addition of the new myTouch and wall kiosks. myTouch kiosk is a stylish new brushed steel touch screen kiosk with integrated blue lighting.

The Reduced Cost of Gamer Kiosks Towers Boost Their Popularity

Gamer Kiosks Towers are robust tower structures that enable the popular console games to be used in a public environment, such as bars, hospitals, youth centres, hostels and waiting rooms. Gamer Kiosks Towers protect the gaming consoles due to their rugged construction which is designed to withstand day to day use and secure the console to protect against theft.

Nielsen surveys conducted with 2,400 gamers in 2009 and showed that on average people spent 18 hours a week gaming. For the hospitality industry, providing a public use gaming kiosk could considerably entice these gamers into your establishment for potentially up to an extra 18 hours per week.

Gamer Kiosks Towers are used within youth services as they provide a popular entertainment facility – video gaming on a console – without risk to the theft or damage to the expensive console or console accessories (the games and or the gamer controllers).

Gamer Kiosk TowerThe games towers are available in 1, 2, 3 or 4 sided construction where each side can accommodate a games console, digital sign, leaflet rack or other option. The gamer towers are branded to suit with imaginative acrylic bezels which also protect the screen against damage. Additionally, the gamer towers can be constructed with coin-op mechanisms to enable simple pay for use of the screen.

Recent developments of the Gamer Kiosks Towers means that the towers can now be made at a reduced manufacturing cost while keeping to the same high quality and strength. This puts the price of a single sided Gamer Kiosk Tower down to around twelve hundred pounds.

Gamer Kiosks Towers represent a great solution to bringing home entertainment consoles to a public place where people can get together and enjoy what they usually only talk to one another about.

Gamer Kiosks Towers are available at Kiosks4Business.com
