Telehealth Kiosks - What is Telehealth and do you need it?

Telehealth Kiosks - What is Telehealth and do you need it?

In very simple terms Telehealth is the delivery of health-related services and information via telecommunications technologies. Such telecommunications technologies as kiosk, internet or website, SMS text messages, television or radio. Telehealth offers the health and medical professions a means to make health information available to a wider audience on a range of telecommunication media devices.

People and communities need information about health matters. Information is a powerful tool and getting valuable health information out to people helps to keep them safe and to protect them. With today’s internet society of silver surfers, social media communities and the younger generation growing up with keyboards in their mouths, it seems an obvious step for health information to be delivered to people in an electronic way. After all most of society are now organising their lives via telecommunication devices.

Telehealth Solutions can assist in improvement of patients’ health whilst at the same time reducing the cost of health delivery.

The obvious benefits of Telehealth is that people can opt for information to be sent to them at a fraction of the cost to the sender compared to sending information by post, or by telephone. Additionally, the process of Telehealth tends to also be a lot quicker. At the press of a button the information can be sent to multiple recipients. Of course making distributing information quicker and easier also saves monetary recourses.

The NHS has been quick to embrace telehealth solutions and has many internet and tech-based services which it provides to patients. Those services and more can now be provided in the extended community – schools, libraries, leisure centres and other locations where people go. By providing information in the community the NHS can save money by ensuring people look after their own health through living healthier lives.

Craft Retail Kiosks and Digital Displays

Craft Shop Kiosks and Digital Displays

Crafting is big business, with many people choosing to craft as their main hobby in one form a or another. Not only are their numerous websites and books showing you things to make and places to buy your supplies, but there are also craft fairs and exhibitions. In a resent online survey hosted by smartgirl.org, it showed that Arts and Craft were the forth most favoured hobby out of 12 listed pastimes with girls aged between 9 to 21; showing that crafting is a growing sector in the hobbyist market place.

On the Worldwide Web there are many websites offering inspiration to crafters of what and how to make things. Whilst these sites dray lots of traffic in terms of visitors, their conversion is much lower. This is because visitors either want to start the project as soon as possible, and buy their material in a shop is quicker then buying online and waiting for them to be delivered. Or because visitors enjoy buying from their ‘usual’ or trusted craft suppliers, whom they believe may be cheaper than buying online.

Of course crafters sometimes have ideas of their own of things to make, whilst others needs ideas to be given to them, or they need to be given the information of how to achieve what they are wanting to make. Kiosks can offer a solution to offering inspirational information to crafters in store.

Asda have lead the way with in store digital marketing, with large screens running adverts of selected products. The products in the videos are always on a shelf below the screens. The screens, which combine video with audio, grab the consumer’s attention and sell to them. In a similar way a multimedia kiosk could sell to crafters in store.

Customer Survey and Feedback Kiosk Solutions

Customer Survey and Feedback Kiosk Solutions

What makes for a successful business? While there are many influences on the success or failure of a business, providing the customer with what they want remains at the core. The only really way to find out what your customers want is to ask them, and not to assume that you already know what they want. A popular method to gather customer feedback is to use a Customer Survey and Feedback Kiosk that is set up in an area with high footfall.

Customer Survey kiosks are computer terminals with consumer feedback software installed onto them. The surveys can be remotely accessed and controlled at a central computer. Which means that the kiosks doesn’t have to be disturbed when you want to view the survey statistics, and new surveys can be added without physical access to the kiosk.

The kiosk should be installed in a very visible and user friendly location. Gathering customer feedback at the point of experience or point of sale might be advantageous to you, so locating the Customer Survey kiosk near the exit or close to the tills would encourage users to complete the survey before they leave the shop.

Kiosks for Airports and Sea Ports

Kiosks for Airports and Sea Ports

Digital signage is a common sight in Air and Sea ports in the UK and touchscreen kiosks can add an extra dimension with interaction being at their core. Kiosks in Air and Sea Ports can provide access to travel, shopping, Hotels, Tourism and other information for travellers.

Using Kiosks in Air and Sea Ports

Air and Sea Ports have had various digital signage solutions for showing arrivals and departures times for a long time now and more recently have seen the introduction of digital signage showing advertising and other messages. Touch screen kiosks in Airports provide an interactive browsing experience for travellers and other visitors.

Paid Internet Access

The ports kiosks can be used to provide paid internet access for users to browse the web, check their emails and other online tasks. The kiosks take coins, notes or credit cards for payment and the operator can set a value per minute use of the kiosk. The ports kiosks could also provide a service such as charging mobile phones and other devices while the user browses the internet.

The kiosks used in Airports and Sea Ports can be combined with an additional signage display above the interactive kiosk to display advertising and other messages.

Airports Kiosks User Interface Design

The Airports kiosk user interface should be designed to be colourful and intuitive. A series of simple buttons will guide the user to 'Check your email', 'Browse the Internet' or other services by touching the screen. The Airports kiosk could be sponsored by local businesses such as Hotels to provide their messages and adverts on the screen. The Airports kiosk could provide a list of local hotels, local tourist attractions and travel information.

Telephone Handset

The Airports kiosks can also have a telephone handset to enable a user to call to book a hotel room, taxi or other service from the kiosk.

Customs

For Customs teams at ports, the touchscreen kiosks can be used for providing access to legal and other information for those being detained or questioned. The kiosks can be set up to handle multiple language selections and provide access to help via web or using the telephone handset.

Customer Feedback

The Airports kiosks can be used with online survey software to provide the operator with feedback from your customers.

Support and Maintenance for your Ports Kiosks

Look out for ongoing costs and how the kiosks will be supported/maintained. Features such as remote monitoring and remote fault fixes are a big advantage as it means that the kiosk manufacturer will be able to fix the kiosk without visiting site.

If you would like further information about using touchscreen kiosks for Airports and Sea Ports then please call us on 0845 451 2020.

Dynamic Menu Boards - A Wealth of Information For Indoor Or Outdoor Advertising

By Dave Bradley

Every restaurant outlet, from snack bars to fine dinning, will benefit from the dynamic menu boards marketing the establishment's food fare. The system should be attractive, easy to maintain, and would fall in line with the structural design of the cafe.

As well as, incorporating information for an entertainment food court would get visitors excited about the facilities and would help accomplish the mission of weaving quality entertainment throughout the guest experience.

To that end, certified partners of digital advertising companies would create the digital content and the installation of LCD screens. The displays may be installed on wall mounts in the bar, where any numbers of displays are dedicated to lists of menu selections in the café. Other screens may display scrolling content that includes animated promotions of snack items available in the food court, alternating with applicable videos and advertisements promoting branded products.

General studies and statistics from the feedback of customers and the staff have been overwhelmingly positive. It is also possible, and a good way of establishing statistics and demographics, to install video monitors in the admissions lobby that which display admission pricing and information facts for people in the queue, helping to make the wait more enjoyable, also known as time warping, or at least bearable!

Because the dynamic menu boards are readily visible and easy to read, customers are able to make order selections more quickly. And the menus have reduced the amount of time staff has to spend changing menu prices, schedules, etc., because it has a digital content. As it's not just a menu of food and prices there is an entertainment value, with the information, marketing or factoids that pop up, like 'Did you know...?' It adds to the whole experience, even in the snack bar.

Finding a turnkey provider of digital menus who can provide the software, the digital creative content, LCD screens - the whole package is a cost effective solution to promoting products and services in this customer facing industry. This makes it easier for customers to deal with one vendor instead of many.

Dave owns the leading supplier of digital menu boards used for indoor digital advertising, as well as owning the world leading manufacturer of LCD enclosures

Why Use a WIFI Network in Digital Signage Advertising?

By Dave Bradley

Digital signage installers are always looking for a competitive edge, now using WIFI technology, the same integrators can now use the same hardware as a second or even third revenue stream for the customer - how?

The benefits of any WIFI network are:

Mobility - with the use of mobile hand held devices, users have no need to have a cabled plugged into a data point in the wall.

Flexibility - When any moves and changes are made to a wired data network, the engineer has to come and perform the work out of hours that results in a larger installation invoice. With wireless, once the access point is fitted and configured anyone with the right access code can connect to the network and work. This too can be utlised in cafes and Starbucks are a prime example, offering free internet access, all you need to do is buy a latte! This also builds consumer loyalty.

Reduced installation costs - wireless compared to a hard wired data network is far more cost effective as well as being less disruptive. All you need to do is run a cable from the server closet to the location where the access point is and wire it into the network, then login and access the network. This cuts down on cables used especially with the cost of copper hitting an all time high.

A typical data cable run of 262 feet would cost approximately $220, compared to the investment of a high quality wireless bridge at $199, now imagine if you have 30 users in one office how much money would you save?

Now this is what people who use digital signage are doing, because when the content has been updated on their network normally out of normal working hours the wireless system is idle, doing nothing, so business owners are allowing users to login and use the internet free and charging none purchasing users to use the internet.

Dave owns the leading manufacturer of LCD monitor enclosures, as well as their range of LCD enclosures that are used for digital advertising outdoors.

Creating Digital Signage For a Unique "Ooh" Experience

Creating Digital Signage For a Unique 'Ooh' ExperienceBy Dave Bradley

When businesses think of deploying digital signage, they come up with the old argument, that it will be complex to manage as well as expensive to deploy, we will try and dismiss this misconception.

As a potential buyer of digital signage, you need to be able to see in your minds eye, your customers staring in awe at your promotion. Too often businesses think the cost associated with deploying digital signage is too high and the learning curve to get to grips with the content creation is too steep.

So for those people - STOP! Go get your self a drink and then come back and read the rest, because it is possible to implement a digital signage system in to a business that has high traffic venues with minimal cost, but with a jaw dropping and engaging experience.

No longer do you need to have high budgets for digital signage, to get the desired high quality end result. You need to look out for multi-display arrangements, synchronized playback and real time content.

Multiple display arrangements.

One of the best ways to grab the audiences attention is to install multiple display arranges, they can be set out to look like collages or even video walls. Something that looks different will certainly get noticed.

Synchronized Playback.

Any high quality digital signage solution needs synchronized playback, no matter how many screens you have, without this your content will not be displayed attractively to potential customers and will lack impact.

Real Time Content.

To provide jaw dropping content, you must ensure that you provide fresh content. The ability to create compelling content and display dynamic feeds from multiple sources in real time on a pre-designed template is the key.

While there is still a learning curve, many users overcome this quickly, with most digital signage systems being designed to be user friendly. There are many free content creation software packages online, these allow users to create high impact content without the need for a design studio. Many OOH systems deploy touch screens, this is an ideal way to engage the customer directly with the digital sign, making it a more engaging experience for the customer..

Dave is an expert technical author in the field of digital outdoor signage, he is also the owner of Europe's leading manufacturer of LCD enclosures, that supplies the digital signage industry with protective digital signage enclosures.

Digital Advertising - The Link Between Wireless & ROI

By Dave Bradley

When a digital advertising solution is being planned and the client gives the "go ahead" for the installation the customer will want it almost immediately, however there is one thing than can increase the ROI and at the same time reduce the installation time and this is how the solution is deployed.

With us all demanding instant information and needing to know what is happening to things in our lives that are important to us (who of us does not have either Face book or Twitter on mobile phones?), we need any dynamic signage solution to be installed quickly, so that we can interact specifically to the ones that are linked to social networking sites. One thing can speed an installation up and that is wireless technology, it is estimated that by the end of 2014, 42% of businesses in the USA will be running on some form of wireless network, replacing the traditional hard wired solution.

Wireless Devices.

No matter where you are, you will see some type of wireless device, from scanners on Point Of Sale locations to hand held computers that have inbuilt WIFI cards, most home printers are now available for wireless connectivity, no longer are we restricted to go the length of the data cable, now we can work in a café 200 miles away from the office and respond as there we are in the office.

If you have ever experienced a network move in your business, you will know how much inconvenience and hassle it is, from waiting for the engineers to turn up at site, sectioning parts of your store off so customers do not get hurt or inconvenienced and at the same time running your business. Now adding a WIFI solution is a perfect opportunity to book your Return On Investment (ROI) whilst minimising customer inconvenience, some customers are benefiting for going wireless and this is increasing sales.

For example a café who has a "hot spot", (this is a wireless access point - users can use whilst at the café), that is configured to open access will increase customer visits as a customer can buy a coffee and a cake and pick up emails. Another example is colleges and universities, as many students bring their own laptops that they have course work on to college, so they can download it and print it off, without the WIFI connection this would be impossible.

Return On Investment (ROI).

Okay let us talk money, when you install a wired solution you are paying for a team of engineers to arrive at site and lay cables in suspended ceilings and in raised floors, taking time and extra costs for installing basket trays, now one engineer can arrive at site, install the wireless access point and then install the wireless cards in the digital signage hardware, do some tests and job done! Typically a wireless deployment can save as much as 60% on installation costs and can take around 90% less time.

The only restriction is distance, but with wireless solutions developing that shouldn't be an issue.

Measuring Audience Participation in Digital Signage - Is it Needed?

By Dave Bradley

With the ever increase in technology advancement, digital signage needs to be measured, or does it? If an advertiser does not measure the results they will certainly be missing on some part of the captive audience, alternatively if the campaign is to targeted they may miss some of the audience, that are on the fringe.

The Out of home video advertising bureau (OVAB) created some guidelines for reporting on general audiences. The problem is that some developers and digital signage integrators do not follow the guidelines when creating content for the general audience.

One of the most common problems is that there are several organisations vying for the attention of the buyer, so we have to address the areas were the digital screens are placed, different personality's of people and the different demographics, as these can all vary from one location to another.

One of the main problems hindering the digital signage is how they can measure the audience effectively, as some of the demographics will not have the same attention span so they will not pay attention to the dynamic adverts.

There are several reasons that puts digital signage ahead of other advertising mediums, the speed of change - a campaign can be edited and changed in less than 5 seconds, compared to printed medium that would take days to do the same. However, printed medium can be monitored, from how many sales per day, to how many people called a particular business using the reference code from a newspaper. Without this traceability, is it difficult for advertisers to believe the claims, until they see the results themselves.

A simple way to measure audience participation is to incorporate a web cam into the LCD enclosure, this way the demographics can be verified, producing real data so that in turn we can improve our digital content.

Dave is an expert in the field of digital signage, his experience covers everything from an LCD digital poster to protective TV enclosures. This goes hand in hand with Dave's ownership of Europe's leading manufacturer of LCD enclosures that are supplied to digital signage integrators throughout the world.

Designing Kiosks for Outdoor Use

Designing Kiosks for Outdoor Use

Touch screen computer systems (kiosks) are seen more and more these days in many and various locations. They are used for a variety of applications such as ticketing, information delivery, photo printing and many others. Most uses tend to fit to a fairly common design brief - being used indoors.

Taking a complex electronic item outdoors requires a more more detailed and well-thought design process to ensure that the machine will continue to work both in the warmest and coldest times of the years. Not only this, but it will also have to deal with the british weather - rain!

Having survived all that the weather can throw at it, a touch screen kiosk for outdoor use must be tough engough to cope with some fairly harsh use.

Touchscreen kiosks are often used with a number of input devices and other peripherals such as telephone handset and it is vital that all components of the system are designed for the environment it will be used in. Telephone handsets are available with ruggedised plastic casings and armoured cables. Keyboards are availble in stainless steel, reistant to all including the worst rain, snow and ice.

Touchscreen kiosks all have LCD screens and a touchscreen covering and the designer must give some thought on how to protect the screen from vandalism whilst still providing a pleasant usege experience. In direct sunlight it may be difficult for the user to see the LCD so think about how the metalwork design may help to provide some shade to the screen. Alternatively take a look at high-brightness LCD screens or sunlight visible LCDs using transflective technology.

The main motherboard will have a temperature specification detailing the lowest and upper operating temperature which the motherboard has been designed for use. Operation of the motherboard below the lower temperature or above the higher operating temperature may stop the system from funtioning correctly. Proper heating and cooling of the system is therefore required to ensure reliable operation year round. The system can be kept warm during the coldest winters by using a small heating element inside the kiosk. Cooling can be done using fans to create an airflow out of the enclosure. However - ideally cooling holes would allow heat to escape from the system but this is a compromise to stop ingress of water.

A watchdog timer, if present, will help in many situations if the hardware locks-up for any reason. A watchdog timer is a device usually on the motherboard of industrial motherboards which is a simple timer which needs to be reset periodically. If it does not get reset then the watchdog will cause the motherboard itself to reset thus rebooting the system.

Networking, while it may be possible to connect the kiosk to a local area network over WIFI this will only work if the kiosk is within 100m or so of the nearset router. The kiosk could be hard wired using an ethernet cable or you could look at using a 3g modem such as those at Sequoia technology (http://www.sequoia.co.uk) to provide a fast wireless internet connection.

In short, designing systems for use outdoors is a complex task with many pitfalls. If your looking into using kiosks outdoors and need some help then please talk to us first.

Healthcare Kiosks & NHS Information Points

Healthcare Kiosks & NHS Information Points

Information in healthcare has never been more relevent. Service users are more willing than ever to engage positively with their health, and use the information they gain positively. The challenge to providers is to provide up-to-date, relevent information in a cost effective and attractive way.Waiting rooms in many health centres, clinics, hospitals, drop-in centres, dentists and GP surgeries are stereotypically a room full of chairs and old back issues of What Car and Hello magazine...

...if you're lucky, you'll get a pushpin board with more current health information. Yet, there is a massive cache of information produced by the NHS for example, that is brilliantly produced, available in a wide variety of formats such as web, image and video, but that the public never gets to see, either because they're not browsing in the right place, or didn't see the latest advert on TV.

Healthcare Kiosks designed for Healthcare settings such as our Wellbeing Information Point, directly connect this rich repository of information with users. It is live, attractive and simple to use, of obvious benefit to users, and does not require re-stocking (like leaflet racks do).

Healthcare Kiosks are always up-to-date as the content can be modified at any time by an administrator. The Healthcare kiosks are designed to provide a colourful and intuitive user experience and there's no limit to the range of information which can be provided by the healthcare kiosk.

NHS digital signs.
NHS produced videos are really well produced, and get a critical message across simply quickly. What could be better than combining a series of these videos with queuing information for a waiting room situation. Add to that a newsfeed and say, a weather forecast for the next three days, and you now have a compelling, visually exciting system that patients will almost be unable to resist watching. Why not add GP profiles, or other information such as secondments or other information that is local and relevent.

We've created systems which are cost effective, easy to use, and they look fantastic in their setting.

Discover How Digital Signage Will Be Used in Football, Horse Racing and the 2012 London Olympics

Discover How Digital Signage Will Be Used in Football, Horse Racing and the 2012 London OlympicsBy Dave Bradley

We have all witnessed the fast development of digital signage, from the humble digital LCD posters that display basic digital advertising, to the more sophisticated full blown digital signage network.

When we go to the airports, train stations and ferry terminals, we are bombarded with digital advertising campaigns, with some company trying to get their brand awareness increased.

Now we all know that soccer is a cash cow and every manufacturer of soccer equipment and football strips wants the public to buy their product. With the UK merchandising market worth an estimated £3 billion per year, I'm sure in the next 6 months, you will see DOOH (Digital Out Of Home) advertising springing up at football grounds.

Now look to next year, in 2010, when the FIFA World Cup commences, if you are lucky enough to visit the host nation, you will see lots of digital signage, some used for brand awareness as well as integrating it with visitor information.

This is also true for the 2012 London Olympics, with most public transport sectors investing heavily into dynamic signage, however due to the nature of the remoteness of the train stations and un-manned areas, the digital signs need to be protected with digital signage enclosures.

Now the Galway races in Ireland are running with a unique system that is user fed, making the content truly unique. During the racing week, people are encouraged to use their mobiles and to submit video and images to the digital signage network for that day and then later in early evening, the outdoor digital signs will then play the content created by the visitors.

Where ever there is an opportunity to market a product, there will be a digital sign, as this is the most efficient type of marketing medium available.

Dave is an expert technical author in the field of NTP servers, he is also the owner of Europe's leading manufacturer of LCD enclosures, that will be supplying the Galway Races and the 2012 Olympics with protective outdoor signage enclosures.

Kiosks Saving Money for Local Government

Kiosks Saving Money for Local Government

Government departments walk a tricky tightrope of trying to reduce their expenditure which increasing the level of service they provide for an ever-expanding population, which is no easy task. You would expect, generally to improve a situation, it will cost money. However touch screen kiosks can help Government departments by improving the level of service available to the public whilst reducing cost, and thus saving money. Sound too good to be true? Here is how a Local Government Can Save Money Using Touchscreen information Kiosks.

National Indicator 14 (NI14) is a government target for local councils which aims to reduce avoidable contact between the community and local authorities. Internet kiosks can help provide a framework for NI 14 to enable residents to access services, support and get updates using a self-service approach.

Interactive touch screen internet kiosks are either free-standing units or are wall mounted. The latter being the most space saving, requiring only a small amount of wall space to accommodate the kiosk. The kiosks are Internet compatible and can hold large amounts of information and well as being able to access information from approved websites from the Internet. Some internet kiosks can also be provided as deskmount for wheelchair access and even portable devices for outreach work.

Because the kiosks have access to large amounts of useful information that is generally required in that particular government department, the kiosk behaves like an additional member of the team. However this team member has no recruitment or training costs. Furthermore the benefits of using technology to ‘self-serve’ are that they work morning to night everyday and all week without needing a break and without fatigue.

Additionally they are very good at dealing with difficult customers or regular visitors who need reassurance. Difficult customers can take up considerable amounts of time. Time that could be used to serve two or three less obstructive clients. Allowing the kiosk to deal with such client’s means that the customer is less likely to tie up members of staff time being drawn into situations of conflict. The kiosk thus helps with avoidable contact situations enabling your staff to concentrate on more complex issues.

Local Government internet kiosks can also be interactive in that they invite a customer to use them and then ask the user a series of question to find out how to best serve them, and to display relevant information depending on the data gathered from the questions that were asked. Or the kiosk can ascertain which forms that the client will need to complete, and which evidence will need to accompany the form if any.

Government internet kiosks are also able to collect information about customers online with onscreen forms and therefore saving on paper and pre-printed forms. Additionally this is also labour saving because the kiosks can ensure that all the relevant fields are completed, which means that forms do not have to be sent back to the customer for further information.

Kiosks are also friendly to people who are hard of hearing, visually impaired or disabled with the aid of audio and hearing loop adapters as well as having easy wheel chair access to get close to the kiosk for use.

The council kiosks can be found in housing, family and social support, finance and customer services as well as many other departments in local councils. NHS and the Police service can also make use of internet kiosks by providing 24-7 coverage for customer services and feedback from the community.

Touch screen kiosks represent a positive and affordable technology solution to keeping service levels high while reducing costs.

SCADA Panel PCs

SCADA or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition is generally the name given to an industrial control system. Panel PC's are often used as part of a SCADA control system as described below

Using Panel PC's for SCADA

Panel PC's are used for wide ranging applications for control and data acquisition. Panel PC's are used in process control, power generation, fabrication and refinery industries

Panel PCs as Human Machine Interface

A panel PC acts as the human-machine interface to control and supervise various settings and feedback values from a control system. The panel PC is an industrial spec motherboard which typically has more input/output connections than a normal consumer PC. Industrial motherboards in panel PC's often have a better temperature range specification and low-power fanless systems are also available. The Panel PC will have a number of RS232/RS485 ports as well as ethernet, USB and WLAN connectivity.

Panel PC Touchscreens

Panel PC's are available with touchscreen LCD displays of different sizes including widescreen format. The screens can have toughened glass and a choice of touchscreen technologies are also available. Panel PC's may use sunlight readable (Transflective) displays.

Panel PC Mounting Methods

Panel PCs can be mounted in numerous ways to be integrated as part of the control system. Panels PC's are available as Chassis Mount Panel PCs, Rackmount Panel PCs and usually have VESA mounts as well as other fixings available.

Panel PC Software

Panel PCs may use Windows XP Pro as the base operating system or alternatively Linux may be used. Security is an important feature when considering software running on a SCADA panel PC platform. The SCADA Panel PC system needs to be resilient to attacks via networks and other open ports.

Interactive Digital Signage

By Dave Bradley

Interactive digital signage represents the next step to customer satisfaction, by adding a layer of interactivity to out of home digital media. Now businesses can engage their customers in a high impact way.

Many companies have experimented with through the window touch screens; these are used by customers to select media that is played inside the store. Now the traditional dynamic signage uses one message and delivers it to as many people as possible, interactive signage takes a dynamic message and tailors the message to the individual who interacting with the sign.

This type of communications can be tailored to sex, age, specific time and location, this type of advertising gives the customers a voice so that retailer can strengthen their campaign for maximum results.

For any type of communication between retailer and customer a medium is required, no matter if it is a mobile phone or a touch screen. There are three type of devices: integrated touchscreen, standalone kiosks and hand held devices.

Touchscreens.

Touch is the easiest and quickest way to communicate, these must be easily navigated, otherwise the customer will not use them and the campaign is failed. These units come in all sizes and kinds with one common technology, the displays know where they have been touched, these can turn a standard sign into a touch screen with a special overlay.

Standalone kiosks.

These units offer a wide range of flexibility as these can have different input devices added at any time, such as a keyboard then the data captured can be of a wider range. With the increased use of wireless connectivity this can enable a kiosk network to be connected wirelessly.

Mobile Devices.

Nothing is more widely available to the worlds market than a mobile phone, getting potential customers to interact and text a short code in response to a signage campaign in a restaurant to qualify for a discount on future meals.

Technology is here to be used.

LCD Enclosures Global specialise in manufacturing outdoor TV cabinets for TV protection as well as waterproof LCD enclosures, these are supplied throughout the world to digital signage installers. Tot his range they have just launched their self-service kiosk this too should offer a cost effective solution for outdoor advertising whilst increasing customer satisfaction.

LCD Enclosure Global can be contacted on 1-888-460-3573 toll free -anything else is a compromise.

Post Office Kiosks and Parcel Postage Kiosks

Post Office Kiosks and Parcel Postage KiosksWe are all aware that many post offices in the UK have closed in recent years, particularly those in rural areas. The post office says that the closures were necessary because these post offices were just not economically feasible to keep open. However it has been a hardship for some communities to look for the services and facilities that a post office provides. A post office internet kiosk could bring some of these services back to these communities who used to rely on the post office.

The post office is no stranger to self-service vending machines. Some post boxes have had small vending machines dispensing postage stamps for years. Although a post office kiosk would be larger in size and comprise of a multimedia touch screen kiosk, self-service scale, a coinage facility and a card reader. The kiosks would need to be housed in an existing shop, with an adjacent lockable room where parcels could be stored until they were collected. However, the kiosks would be fully self-service kiosks, which means that they would be cost effective due to ‘no staff required’.
